(AP) -- New York Jets owner Woody Johnson says Rex Ryan will return as coach next season after the team finished 8-8 and knocked the Miami Dolphins out of playoff contention with a 20-7 win Sunday. Ryan's job status was uncertain heading into the regular-season finale at Miami since the Jets have gone three straight years without a playoff appearance. It was unclear whether general manager John Idzik would want to hire his own coach heading into his second season on the job.
